Alumni

Alumni Card

Alumni cards provide free access to physical Library resources, and access to a subset of online electronic resources.

Interested in getting an Alumni Card?

Once you have your new Alumni Card, there are a few things you need to know:

  • Alumni cards must be activated in the Library at the Ask Us desk or registered online before you can sign out materials, or access Alumni e-resources online
  • Alumni library accounts expire every 2 years. Library staff will contact you via email before your Library privileges expire or you can contact the Ask Us desk for re-activation
  • Your Alumni card allows you to check items out at the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University libraries as well
  • Alumni can also apply for Guest Access to the Campus Wireless Network at the Ask Us desk in the Library

Electronic Resources

We're pleased to offer a collection of electronic resources which alumni can access electronically. When we negotiate electronic resource access contracts with vendors, we work with vendors to try to include alumni access to resources as well. The list of Alumni Electronic Resources will grow as we negotiate deals with vendors who allow alumni to access their resources.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) service contains free, full text, scientific and scholarly journal articles.

The Atrium, the University of Guelph institutional repository, contains free, full text, scholarly University of Guelph resources.

You are welcome to use your own laptop to access electronic resources within the Library. Learn more about wireless internet access in the Library
