The recruitment period for leaders who will begin their placement during the Fall 2012 semester is January 30 - February 13, 2012.

Candidates should fill out the application form on the PHP website. As part of the application process you will be asked to upload a cover letter and resume to the application form.

For more information regarding becoming an SLG leader please contact Krista Bianco via e-mail at slg@uoguelph.ca.

What do SLG Leaders do?

SLG Leaders are trained Peer Helpers who attend class lectures again and then hold out-of-class study sessions on a weekly basis to help students integrate how to learn with what to learn. SLG Leaders do not lecture or teach new material; rather, they design and implement pragmatic study group activities. SLG Leaders prompt students to engage with the course content by solving problems, practicing strategies, sharing effective approaches to study, comparing notes and predicting exam questions.

"Being an SLG Leader I feel like I'm really contributing to the university in a special way, doing something worthwhile that completely fits with my personality and skill set. I feel like I'm truly part of the community now. It's amazing."
