In a research team involving a number of researchers and technicians it can be challenging to keep track of communications, documents and data.
A Virtual Research Environment is an online presence designed specifically for your team enabling you to communicate with members of your team, retain that communication for future reference, share documents, ensure you are using the latest version of a document, revert to previous versions of a document when necessary, store your data with security and backup mechanisms in place, and preserve it all beyond the life of your project. You can also selectively expose components of your VRE to researchers in other disciplines or at other institutions to facilitate broader collaboration.
