
Open Access Support is a prime example of the Library actively pursuing alternative methods of publication for its constituents.
Open-access (OA) refers to material that is available in a digital, online format, free of charge to the user, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions.
The University of Guelph Library supports the principles of Open Access and promotes alternative modes of scholarly communications to enable scholars to share the results of their research as widely as possible.
As a member of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN), the University of Guelph fully supports the CRKN Statement on Alternative Publishing Models & Open Access (PDF – 232kb).

Our BioMed Central membership now extends to SpringerOpen journals. As a Postpay Member researchers at University of Guelph can publish in any one of BioMed Central, Chemistry Central, PhysMath Central or SpringerOpen journals without incurring any cost or charges. The article processing charge is paid in its entirety by University of Guelph.
