Individual Study

Open carrels and tables are provided for individual study on the basement floor and on the second, third, fifth, and sixth floors of the McLaughlin Library.

Undergraduate Students

There are many study carrels and tables available in both libraries which all students and faculty may use. In the McLaughlin Library they are distributed throughout the building. As well, undergraduates may use the research carrels, but must yield use to the assigned user when asked.

Graduate Students & Faculty

Research carrels and study offices may be booked for research. They are available in the McLaughlin Library only.

Centre for Students with Disablities Offices

CSD study offices may be booked 24 hours in advance. Students receive a special orange ID card from the CSD office in the University Centre. Study office bookings are done at the Circulation desk. CSD study offices are located on the 6th floor of the McLaughlin Library.

Quiet (Individual) Study Locations

Quiet study areas are on the lower level (basement), 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th floors of the McLaughlin Library.

Group Study

Group Study Rooms

There are several library group study rooms available on a check-out basis. Room keys can be charged out on your Library account at the Circulation & Interlibrary Services Desk, 1st floor. Rooms are checked out on a first come first served basis; no advanced bookings; maximum usage is 2 hours; usage is restricted to patrons who hold a valid University of Guelph ID card; minimum 2 occupants; late fines and sanctions will also be applied.
