The CSLA Awards are sponsored by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects together with provincial associations. The purpose of the awards is to promote superior work by practitioners and to develop public awareness of the profession of landscape architecture. At least one member of a competing team must be a full member of one of the provincial associations in order to qualify. Entries can fall into one of three categories: Research, Planning or Design. The last category is divided into the following subsections: Recreational, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Urban Design, Transportation or Historical. Drawings, layout and planting plans are required for at least one phase of the project. Awards include: Citation Award for particular superior qualities in an entry. Merit Award for overall high quality work in an entry. Honour Award for overall superior work in an entry.
