Studying the text, testing the recipes, assessing the visual impact — the core work of choosing the top books in each category is done by six teams of Volunteer Jurors, all food professionals chosen by the National Awards Committee. The English-language books are selected by four teams of three judges, representing all of Canada's culinary regions. The French-language books are evaluated by two teams of three judges.
