How to search the collection:
finding and viewing the cookbooks
You may have a specific cookbook in mind, or you may wish to browse
our catalogue to see what the collection includes. Either way, you
need to access the University of Guelph Library's electronic catalogue,
TRELLIS.
If you need help searching the catalogue, our online
tutorial may help. Or you can ask for assistance from Archival
and Special Collections staff, either through email
or, if you are visiting, in person. If you care to experiment, here
are a few simple ideas:
One way to browse the collection is to enter the phrase "Canadian
Cookbook Collection" together with a keyword. For example, suppose
you are interested in Canadian homestead cookery. You would enter:

The results would be:

Another way to browse is to enter "cookery, canadian" as
a subject term, as shown:

This returns more than 2000 results, as shown, which you can then browse
at leisure. You may find it useful to sort by date, title or author.

Experiment! There are many ways to access information about the collection.
