1975-2003

[ 1 ]

In l975, Macdonald Stewart Hall was joined to the Macdonald Institute to house the School of Hotel and Food Administration (HAFA). The new building was financed by $l,300,000 pledged to the Founders' Fund. The Macdonald Stewart Foundation provided the naming grant for the building. In 1992 the first graduate program was developed for HAFA (Master of Business Administration in Hospitality and Tourism). A recent three-story addition to Macdonald Stewart Hall provides office space and updated classrooms.

In 1998, FACS joined with the College of Social Science to form the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences. No longer geared towards the education of women in particular, the class lists and administrative offices encompased the names of both genders.

The most recognized symbol from the Macdonald Institute are the beautiful stained glass windows decorating the interior entrance of the building.
