Soil Surveys have been published for most of the agricultural areas, and many surrounding areas across Canada. Significant characteristics of detailed soil surveys are:
- Scale varies (1:20,000 to 1:250,000)
- Coverage includes much of the significant agricultural areas of Canada.
- Data content varies, availability of digital data varies.
- Attributes – For each polygon the tables typically defines up to three soils. Additional soils may have been identifies in the original soil survey, but not included in the digital attribute tables.
