Digital Elevation Models (DEM) are used in many types of landscape analysis including watershed delineation, landscape characterization, hydrologic modeling and ortho-rectification. This high resolution raster data set covers the province of Ontario to the 51st parallel. It was created during the period, January 8, 2001 to Friday, December 20, 2002. It was created through the Water Resources Information Project (WRIP), LRC — Peterborough.
There are 150 tiles, in packaged-product format, covering the province. Cell resolutions are 20 meters in northern Ontario and 10 meters in southern Ontario.
Note: Ontario DEMs Ver. 2.0.0 have been made available through the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources at Water Resources Information Project page.
