The Fundamental Data Set, obtained through the Ontario Geospatial Data Exchange (OGDE), contains various GIS coverages. Most are the equivalent of features on topographic maps in the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Ontario Base Map Series.

Features cover all of Ontario. Coverages may be available as files for the whole Province, for Ministry of Natural Resource Regions (3) or for Ministry of Natural Resources Districts (26)

SNIF: The Standard NRVIS Interchange Format (SNIF) was initially developed as part of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources' (OMNR) geographic data standardization effort. It defined a standard format to be used to share data from the Ministry's corporate geographic data management system, NRVIS (Natural Resources Values Information System), with the Ontario Land Information Warehouse (OLIW) and/or business partners.
