Provider

Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources from First Base Solutions.

These orthorectified colour air photos of Southern Ontario were provided to the University by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and made possible through a donation from the Ontario Ministry of Education. There are approximately 17,000 images files in the collection and are based on 2002 photography. Use the OrthoIndex to locate and download images.

Coverage

Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Lambton, Niagara, Peel, Simcoe, Toronto, and York. Contact the DRC to order portions of Grey, Simcoe, Kawartha, and Peterborough.

In 2005, these photos were updated and are available in the following MrSid mosaics. Contact the DRC for access — :

  • Durham (12 images)
  • Halton (4 images)
  • Hamilton (3 images)
  • Peel (4 images)
  • Toronto (3 images)
  • York (9 images)

In 2006, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources' Southwestern Ontario Orthophotography Project [ SWOOP] created ortho photographs for the rest of Southwestern Ontario.
