European Parliament
The legislative power of the European Union. Elections are held every five years.
It acts as an equal partner to the Council of Ministers and passes the majority of European laws.
Members are elected representatives of EU-wide political parties, not individual member states.
Council of the European Union
Consisting of Ministers of the member states. Meetings are arranged based on topic being considered.
(eg. Foreign policy issues discussed by all foreign affairs ministers from member states).
Economic and Social Committee
Consultative body to advise the European Parliament, the Council of the European
Union and the European Commission on matters related to economic and social issues affecting members.
