Your login is your University ID barcode. Your password is your last name (lowercase).
Choose Guelph as your Library location.
Use RACER to look for book and journal titles not held in TUG (U. Guelph, U. Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier U.) but available from other libraries. The Racer database
will not search for journal articles or chapters in books.
Search types:
Advanced Search
In the search box, type in the full title (no abbreviations) of the journal or book you are looking for.
Tip: You can also search by ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) or ISBN (International Standard Book Number), an identifier number which uniquely identifies published journals and books
When you see the results of your search, click on the "Get It" icon from one of the libraries that
hold the item
When you click on the "Get It" icon the bibliographic information will
automatically be transferred to the Interlibrary Loan request form
Complete the rest of the form and "Request". Only submit one form per title
The request will be sent to the Guelph Interlibrary Loan office
To make a request for another title, click the "Advanced Search" link. Do not use the browser's
back button — you will receive a "Data Missing" message
Blank Request Form
Use a blank form when you can't find the item after trying a search
Click on the "Blank Request Form" link in the left hand navigation bar under the "My Account" heading
In the "Format" drop menu choose book, journal or appropriate format type
After completion, click the "Request" button
On the Copyright Notification page, click the "Request" button
To make another request, click the "Advanced Search" link. Do not use the
browser's back button — you will receive a "Data Missing" message
When you have finished, don't forget to "Sign Out".
Once the item you have requested has arrived you will receive an e-mail notice from
the ILL department.
You will also receive an e-mail notice if:
The request has been cancelled because the item is available from our own collection
The request has been cancelled for any other reason
