Foreign-trained Veterinarians

Borrowing Card

Foreign trained vets must purchase a community borrower card (a $20.00 annual fee applies). Enquire at the Circulation & Interlibrary Services desk

A-V Materials

Veterinary practitioners with a community borrowing card may view A-V materials within the OVC learning Commons on a two-hour loan.

Reserves

Standard preparatory materials are also available in the Reserve collection:

  • Veterinary Correspondence Revision Course

Veterinary Practitioners Borrowing Card

Veterinary practitioners who are alumni can obtain a free alumni card at Alumni House and activate it in-person at the Circulation & Interlibrary Services desk in the McLaughlin Library. Those who are not Guelph alumni must purchase a community borrower card at the Circulation & Interlibrary Services desk (a $20.00 annual fee applies). Circulating books from the University of Guelph Library may also be borrowed through your public library (a charge may apply.)

OVC Learning Commons Audio-visual Material

We will loan videotapes on the subject of veterinary medicine to Veterinary Practitioners in Ontario only.

  • To order videos FAX a request on your clinic's letterhead to 519-836-0411.
  • Videos will be shipped to you via courier (at your cost), and must be returned via courier (at your cost). You must provide us with your account number for a courier service.
  • The video is for personal use only, it cannot be shown in a public venue.
  • The video must be returned to the University Library within five days of receipt.

  • Article(s) mailed to veterinary professional: $10 per article.
  • Articles(s) FAXed to veterinary professional: $10 per article plus $1 per page.
