New Resource: Very Short Introductions (Oxford)

Very Short Introductions is a book series published by the Oxford University Press. The books are concise introductions to particular subjects, intended for a general audience but written by experts. Most are under 200 pages long. Very useful for gaining a basic understanding of key concepts and events in a wide range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences and sciences. Each volume provides an authoritative and engaging assessment of a concept, field, or body of work, drawing out the central ideas, themes, and approaches.
