Other Material Types


  • 2 week loans
  • Two audiovisual materials (videos, compact discs, dvds) can be signed out at one time by University members for one day loan. Alumni and community members must be used in-house
  • Booking or previewing AV material for classes requires special procedures
  • Holds are not permitted on audiovisual materials

Reserve Materials

  • 2 hour loans
  • Charge out and renew in-person, renewals are only possible if another copy is available
  • Late fines apply
  • Reserve materials cannot leave the McLaughlin Library building
  • Reserve materials are not available to alumni or community members
  • Reserve materials cannot be renewed online or by phone
  • Holds on reserve materials are not permitted


  • 2 hour loans
  • Renewals are only possible when 5 or more laptops are available
  • Cannot be prebooked
  • Late fines apply
  • Return laptops 30 minutes prior to the Library closing time
  • Laptops are not permitted to leave the McLaughlin Library building
  • Not available to alumni or community members
  • Do not copy software from the laptops
  • Please plug-in the laptop and check the level of battery charge available prior to use without the power cord because the battery may not be charged at time of loan. Charging can take two hours. A fully charged battery may last 3 hours. All laptops come with a power cord
  • When the laptop is rebooted, anything saved on the laptop will be deleted. We are not responsible for loss of, or damage to any files placed or used on the laptop.  Please store your files online, on USB flash drive, or on CD
  • The borrower agrees to assume any and all legal liability for the cost of repair or replacement such as theft or damage. Do not leave the laptop unattended at any time. In the event of a fire alarm, keep the Library laptop with you
