Cameron Porteous was born in Forgan, Saskatchewan. He studied art and design in London, England. After ten years at the Vancouver Playhouse he joined Christopher Newton as director of design for Shaw Festival. His plays have been produced at the Citadel Theatre, Edmonton, the Vancouver Playhouse, and The Canadian Stage Company in Toronto. He worked on the Emmy Award-winning film, “Beethoven Lives Upstairs”. His designs have been exhibited at the Rodman Hall Arts Centre, St. Catharines, and in Vancouver, Prague, St. Petersburg, and Toronto.
