Collection of correspondence, legal documents, accounts, photographs, relating to 6 generations of the Mickle Family.

Charles Julius Mickle (1784-1859) and his family emigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1832. They settled on land now occupied by the Catholic Seminary (Ignatius College) on Elora Road (Highway 6).

The collection contains material relating to Charles Julius and his descendants; also to his father William Julius (1734-1788), a published author of some repute, and to his grandfather Alexander Mickle (d.1758), a Presbyterian minister at Langholm in Dumfriesshire.
