Geospatial data is data that is paired with geographic positioning information. For example, a satellite image of a small town which is geo-referenced with the coordinates of each gas station. Geospatial data is used in fields as diverse as environmental and life sciences, geography, business, and social sciences to reveal patterns and relationships. Geospatial data can provide additional context and evidence in support of research findings.
