Fall in Love with Books

Join us on September 25, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the McLaughlin Library for our annual event called Fall in Love with Books. Bring your cozy vibes, your pumpkin spiced lattes, and your best-knit sweaters and browse some of our favourites from the library’s Gryph Reads Collection.

This year we are teaming up with the Guelph Public Library to educate people on library resources in the community. The Guelph Public Library is co-hosting this event and will be available to discuss their services, events, and collections such as their e-learning (like Gale Learning and Tutor.com) and e-resources (like automotive repair and career help). What else? The Guelph Public Library is also going to be signing students up for their own public library cards! Bring proof of your Guelph address (anything that displays your name and address will work) and get signed up for your own public library card on the spot!

Located on the first floor of the library, our Gryph Reads Collection has over 1000 titles that are added to throughout the year. Even if you don’t know what you’re looking for you’ll be sure to find something interesting!

Searching for your next read? Take our quiz to discover which Gryph Reads book you should check out next!

Feel like you read enough during the school year as it is? Convinced that you don’t have enough time to read during the semester? Check out our Facebook post Should I Read Before Bed? for five reasons you should make time for leisure reading every day (backed by science).

Curious about what’s coming? Follow the library on Instagram where our highlight “Gryph Reads” will keep you up to date on what’s up and coming.
