The University of Guelph’s McLaughlin Library is the grateful recipient of $16.1 million dollars as part of a larger $30 million dollar investment in the University of Guelph jointly by the Federal and Provincial Governments of Canada.
The Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund announcement was made today by Lloyd Longfield, Member of Parliament of Guelph and the Honourable Liz Sandals, President of Treasury Board and Member of Provincial Parliament of Guelph.
“The SIF funding allows the Library to embark on our largest space renewal project to date,” said Rebecca Graham, Chief Librarian and CIO. “Our second floor space will be substantially transformed with the addition an innovative digital scholarship centre, the relocation and renewal of our archives and special collections reading & seminar rooms, a state-of-the-art media lab along with extensive building system upgrades.”
The McLaughlin Library investment is funded in part from the Federal Government along with institutional funding.
