Library Resources to Start Your Semester Strong

As the fall semester commences, we think it’s important to share some resources that can support you this semester. Many of our services and resources are available online, so you can access them whenever you need them, from wherever you are.

Online appointments and consultations

You can meet with a staff member or peer consultant on a variety of topicsAt your appointment, you'll receive individual, personalized support for your needs. All our appointments are free and confidential.

When you book an appointment, we will

  • Provide feedback on your writing in all stages of the writing process
  • Learn strategies for organizing your ideas and structuring your thesis, papers, and chapters
  • Support you in working with data, such as finding the datasets you need for your assignments, research projects, thesis, or dissertation
  • Assist you in controlling procrastination and perfectionism to complete your assignments, thesis, or program on time

These are just some examples of topics we can help with.

Online workshops

This semester all workshops are being held online to support you in developing your academic and professional skills.

Planning for Success – library workshops in collaboration with Gryphons Nest

This semester, we're offering new set of workshops to support U of G students with the transition remote learning. The Planning for Success series will cover topics like learning remotely, maximizing your productivity, and preparing for midterms.

Supported Learning Groups

Supported Learning Groups (SLGs) have also moved online and are being offered through CourseLink Virtual Classroom. SLGs provide course specific support for student outside of class.
