In celebration of Open Access week, the University of Guelph Library is pleased announce that we will be sponsoring Kate Bishop-Williams - a PhD student from the Department of Population Medicine - to attend OpenCon 2015.
The conference takes place on November 14-16, 2015 in Brussels, Belgium. The theme of this year’s conference is, “Empowering the Next Generation to Advance Open Access, Open Education and Open Data.” Kate has been selected as U of G’s representative because of her outstanding achievements and her passion for open access.
International Open Access Week, a global celebration of Open Access as the new norm in scholarship and research, was celebrated the week of October 18-24, 2015. The University of Guelph hosted its second Open Access Colloquium on Friday, October 23 and Kate gave an insightful presentation about the importance of Open Access from a global perspective.
