Abstract: 

John Eccles was born in Galt and graduated from the OAC in 1940. During his College years, he lived in residence and worked at several jobs to support himself, including with Mr. Tolton in the Extension Department. Following graduation, he taught at Stamford Collegiate for a year before joining the Navy where he served on HMCS Cornwall, HMCS Discovery and HMCS Fergus. After being discharged from the Navy, his association with Mr. Tolton as a student resulted in his being offered a position at OAC as Dean of Men and Student Counsellor. He later became Director of Public Relations. When the University was formed, John became Director of Accommodations. He also served for a time as Secretary of the OAC Alumni Association.

 In the interview, John discusses life on the campus as it has changed from the time he was a student until his retirement in the early 1980s.
