Archival & Special Collections normally considers selected donations for inclusion in our collections, although because of space and resource restraints, we must be very selective in what we accept. Archival material that we will consider must be unique and include significant research value and provenance, and complete or complement existing collections in the following areas:

  •     Agricultural History and Rural Heritage
  •     Canadian Culinary
  •     Landscape Architecture
  •     LM Montgomery
  •     LW Conolly Theatre Archives
  •     Regional and Campus History (pre-1964)
  •     Scottish Studies

If you wish to discuss a potential donation of archival material that meets the above guidelines, please contact Curtis Sassur, Head A&SC

If you wish to discuss a potential donation of rare books, please contact Ashley Shifflett McBrayne, Special Collections Librarian

The library cannot accept any items dropped off without prior arrangement with the appropriate contact person listed above.

Due to our limited space and the costs associated with accepting donations, if the material being offered is deemed to be of interest to the library, the donor will be asked to provide an itemized list with a full description of their intended donation so that it can be fully considered. The library may undertake an on-site evaluation of the collection before a determination to accept can be made.
