Connect Google Scholar to the Library’s Resources

Today's Hours: 8am - 10pm - All service hours

You can connect Google Scholar to the library's resources so every time you search, you’ll see what resources you have access to as a U of G student, faculty or staff. If you are logged into your Google account, this is a one-time settings configuration. If you're not logged into Google, or you don’t have an account, you may have to reconfigure occasionally.

If you're already set up

How to configure Google Scholar

  1. Go to Google Scholar.
  2. Select the hamburger menu (3 horizontal lines) at the top left of the screen and select “Settings”.
  3. Select “Library links” from the left menu.
  4. Type in “University of Guelph” in the search field and click the search button.
  5. Select any U of G results in the list.
  6. Click the save button.

Now when you search Google Scholar, you’ll see Get it at Guelph links on the right for resources coming from U of G Library. If you don’t see the links, try following the above steps again.

Once you’ve linked U of G resources to Google Scholar, you can go directly to Google Scholar You’ll be prompted to login using your SSO after you click on a resource, if required.
