The University of Guelph Library and the Office of Teaching and Learning are participating in a multi-institutional project focused on AI Literacy in Higher Education, facilitated by the research institute ITHAKA S+R. As part of this project, we are seeking both students and faculty members to participate in separate focus groups to help us better understand perceptions of AI literacy in higher education.

Gaining valuable information from the U of G community through focus groups

We are interested in learning about your experiences, perspectives, concerns, and support needs related to the use of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning, and academic work. Your insights will help inform the development of future resources, services, and supports for the U of G community, while also contributing to a broader conversation taking place across higher education institutions.

Faculty Focus Group

Help us better understand how faculty members perceive AI literacy and what supports may be needed to support teaching and learning in an AI-enabled environment. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

  • Date: Oct. 14, 2026
  • Time: 10 to 11:45 a.m.
  • Location: Johnston Hall 074

Student Focus Group

This is your opportunity to share your perspective on AI in learning and help shape future supports and services for students. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

  • Date: Oct. 15, 2026
  • Time: 1:30 to 3 p.m.
  • Location: Johnston Hall 074

Interested in participating?

Whether you are enthusiastic about AI, cautious about its use, or still figuring out what AI literacy means, we want to hear from you. Your voice will help us create more effective supports and resources for the U of G community. Participants will be entered into a draw to win a $50 Hospitality Services gift card.

Register a focus group and help shape the future of AI literacy at U of G.
