In addition to Library Peer Helper and Work Study positions, we also offer the following paid positions:
Writing Support GSAs
Writing support graduate service assistants are responsible for supporting undergraduate and graduate students in the development of their academic writing by:
- Providing individual writing consultations to all students
- Presenting writing workshops
- Producing instructional materials
- Providing assistance to students in the Academic Support Hub
Student Athlete Mentors
Student-athlete mentors deliver the Pearson Family Student-Athlete Mentor Program and are responsible for:
- Working 5 hours per week in SAM study sessions
- Providing resources and tailored assistance to first-year and academically at-risk student-athletes
- Mentors are trained in academic skills by the library and in peer counselling by Student Wellness.
- Mentors must be academically successful, upper-year student-athletes who are empathetic, open-minded, and helpful.
Student-athletes interested in becoming a mentor can email library@uoguelph.ca. Hiring takes place in the winter semester each year for positions beginning the following September.
