NVivo is a qualitative data analysis tool that assists in organizing, analyzing, and visualizing textual data. If you’re working with interviews, surveys, or text-heavy research, NVivo can help you uncover patterns, visualize themes, and generate evidence-based insights.
New to NVivo? No problem. The library has developed a NVivo Workshop Guide that will teach you how to use the software. “This resource is designed so that participants can have hands on experience doing all the key tasks (importing, coding, queries) using sample data,” said Jennifer Marvin, librarian, Research & Scholarship. The guide includes videos and step-by-step instructions that lead you through the whole process, using sample data, or your own.
The interactive guide will help you learn how to:
- Import and organize files
- Create cases and case classifications
- Create, edit, and organize thematic codes
- Analyze and visualize data
NVivo is one of the library’s most popular resources for data analysis. Curious if it could help you? Check out the NVivo Workshop Guide to become familiar with the concepts and terms and then book an appointment to discuss your project needs.
