Kindred Spirits The Lucy Maud Montgomery Legacy as Interpreted by Contemporary Book Artists

Kindred Spirits, a touring book art exhibit, that responds to the work and life of Lucy Maud Montgomery, is on display until May 2026 at the U of G Library. “This exhibit showcases beautiful and imaginative interpretations of the works of L.M. Montgomery by book binders and artists, demonstrating the author’s enduring inspiration and relevance,” said Ashley Shifflett McBrayne, rare books librarian, Archival & Special Collections. “As an important repository of L.M. Montgomery research materials, we are so excited to continue the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Montgomery’s birth, with this incredible display of creativity, artistry, and mediums.”

Curated by members of the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild, the exhibit is an acknowledgement of the enduring legacy of Lucy Maud Montgomery. Stop by the library’s exhibit room to view the Kindred Spirits exhibit any time the library is open.
